In search of a quality logbook…

English Logbooks has its beginnings in the Aegean. Having sailed from Northern Spain and across the Mediterranean I was reading back through six months of log entries. Along the way we had had some adventures. Surely they deserved a better record than a book that was already falling apart?

Today English Logbooks makes the type of sturdy volume I was dreaming of writing in. Each a companion for life, designed for those seeking uncompromising quality and great design. A pleasure to write in and to read back half a lifetime later.

Whether your adventure is by air, land, sea or armchair, I hope you will grow to love the books we make.

It always amazes me how time can erode the little things that give texture to a voyage that only a daily logbook can preserve

Bound to last a lifetime.

We’re an analogue antidote to all that’s short lived in a fast moving world. What we make never goes out of style.

To find the expertise to make our books we took a dive into the world of traditional bookbinding, learning the best craftsmanship to be closer to home than we expected.

Section sewn by hand, hand marbled, covered in woven buckram and personalised; our books are a testament to the possibility of a long forgotten craft that we’re proud to share with customers.

Subtle on the outside. Beautiful on the inside. Thoroughly practical.

Our books take inspiration from working ledgers made to do a job. They’re seriously tough and the outer is water resistant. Inside you’ll find our aquamarine lining- a nod to our seafaring roots and, of course, reams of quality log pages.

It’s personal.

Our books make a wonderful present, especially to yourself. When you order, we’ll personalise the front cover at no extra cost.

Specific logo designs can also be incorporated with a longer lead time.
